After more than a month, here’s a photo diary of happenings last February 15 during the first Love, Type workshop.
For something pretty new to me and my friends, I’d like to think our first run was pretty much alright. Although we are so sure that there is so much more to improve on our next session. :)
The workshop was held at Third Cup Cafe in Katipunan (where I did some lettering on their wall last year).
Super love the interiors of this quaint cafe.
The workshop started pretty late because my teammates and I were pretty paranoid with everything that was happening (first timer woes).

Love, Type team. We’ve been best friends for over 20 years and it’s our first time to work together so it was definitely fun.
Basically, the whole afternoon was spent practicing different styles. We gave an overview on lettering by providing a cheat sheet and asked them to have a final output for the DIY project, which was to hand letter their favorite quote to have it framed.

Yay for supportive friends!

Students were all prepared with quotes they wanted to hand letter.
Output samples from our students. Awesome work!
Aside from teaching and tutoring duties, it was delightful to meet some readers and to get to interact with our students. I’m the shy type and I’ve never taught before so this was a nice new experience.
Thank you, AdCreate friends, for stopping by!
Thank you also to Ber for being our official event photographer and for documenting Love, Type’s first run. We love you! <3
Full list of thank you’s here.
Love, Type (Part II) update: tentative date is on May 17. We moved it to May instead of April to have more time to prepare (and the team is really busy). We’ll be accepting very few slots (10 maximum) to ensure more hands-on tutoring. More details on the location and other information soon. :)
