There are quite a lot of reasons why I love to go out of town (obviously, since I’ve been at it these past few weekends). A huge part of it is because I forget who I am for awhile and just…live. Like I don’t have to worry about anything.

Subic was the destination for last weekend. Although I’m not quite a beach lover, I had a wonderful time.

Well, except when the right time is to take a snapshot of the sunset (and taking obligatory beach photos, lol).

I spent the weekend reading Every Day by David Levithan, too, during the whole trip to the beach (accompanied by my summer playlist). It’s amazing and definitely a must-read. I couldn’t stop tweeting about it - that’s how strong the impact was on me.

imageAnd I sneaked up on Sunday morning, went back to our hotel’s balcony and secretly did my Mothers’ Day present. :-)

Sometimes I neglect affection and just write down my feelings. I do the same for the most important people in my life. I guess it’s always been a natural thing for me to write, write, and write. You wouldn’t imagine how many notebooks I have here that are full of words I’ve written over the years.

Favorite parts: sitting in a quiet corner of our balcony painting and taking in the fresh air (and hot morning beach weather) and feeling the sand on my toes as I walk along the shoreline.
