During the last week of July, we flew to Cebu for a workshop with Joan & Klaire – and it was definitely a great experience to be able to teach outside of Manila. While the two-day workshops kept us busy the whole day, nothing spelled staycation better than staying at The Henry Hotel in Banilad.
Let’s admit it, having to find a home away from home isn’t easy. It’s never the same feeling to live off hotels every time I’m in transit – but The Henry Hotel definitely proved otherwise.
Aside from the A+ interiors of each room, the comfort of staying in bed on lazy mornings reading and writing kept us glued to our rooms before the workshops started.
Moreover, it’s hard to say no to a good breakfast with this interior –
and the lovely sunlight seeping in as we greeted a new day.
Most of the afternoons were spent mostly fixing stuff for the workshop and having downtime at the room.
On our departure day, we were able to check out the reading room on the second floor, which was quite fitting –
because this statement showed itself to me, and reminded me that at the end of the day, it’s still important to take a break and relax despite the busyness of things. And I guess for the most part, that’s exactly what The Henry Hotel was to us – a place to relax, forget about life for a bit, and a good place to stay in as a temporary home.
Thank you to the awesome folks at The Henry Hotel for the warm welcome and accommodations! We definitely had an awesome stay. :)
PS: You can check out photos from the Cebu workshop here. Thank you so much to Joan and Klaire for bringing me to Cebu, and to my manager Tricie for tagging along and helping me out for the 2-day workshop weekend.
