I am a cornucopia of many things. But if there are two main things I’d like to focus my energy on most, it would be art and travel.
Which is why that night in La Union where this idea of a travel bazaar came about between me and Mikka was an instant eureka moment for both of us.
Funny story about Mikka. I was still giddy with getting accepted as an intern for Pepper (who wouldn’t?!) when I met her at Summit studios (we were both featured for Candy magazine) last March. I awkwardly said hi and a few months after, we became super good friends. I am pretty much an introvert but there are rare people like Mikka who I instantly get along with (like-minded introverts ftw).
Anyway, moving on ~
We are having a bazaar this weekend! It’s called Suitcase Souvenirs, and we’re collaborating with fellow travelers – photographer Kimi Juan and 1/2 of Habitual Coffee and Suelas, Kaye, for this event. We are more than excited to share stories about travel and sell some of our pre-loved travel souvenirs.
During our planning session a few weekends ago at Habitual Coffee.
Here are some of the things I’ll be selling this weekend.
Magnets & keychains from my Asian trips (those two up there were from Life in Transit!)
“Explore” tote bags, a few old prints
These custom pouches I made a few days ago – which I hand painted (just like the old days)
Paintings from locals (this was from Cambodia)
How to be an Explorer of the World by Keri Smith and a few other books I haven’t used (selling at a discounted price)
Made by ABC items will also be available. I was pretty overwhelmed actually with the online orders (thank you everyone!) but hopefully I get to display some of the remaining stuff I have at home.
Also, introducing Traveling Type: a collaboration between me & Mikka!
* * * *
Born out of our postcard-sending tendencies every time we travel and our fondness for adventure, photography and writing, Mikka and I created a set of postcards aptly called “Traveling Type”.
We’re selling our first batch of postcards this coming Saturday. Hope you guys swing by and chat with us this weekend!
